GUEST SPEAKER-BILL POPP

We had another guest speaker for our Sports Administration class. It was someone who we were all familiar with and his name is Bill Popp, and to some Coach Popp. He is the head baseball coach and Athletic Director here at Reinhardt University. He explained to us how he went to West Georgis and played three years of baseball. His last year he chose to volunteer coach there which opened many opportunites for him. He got his bachelor's degree there and eventually ended up at Oglethorpe where he was the head coach for 11 straight years. In 2004 he decided to come to Reinhardt College. The second year he was here they formed a baseball team and he's been the head coach ever since. He got into detail about how there are 290 schools in the NAIA and there's 25 different conferences. We have 15 sports at Reinhardt(8 women, 7 men). There are five core values that include: integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servent leadership. I really enjoyed him coming to talk to us!
